Jim Jacobi is a self-made success and proven entrepreneur with an extensive career in residential development and building. Since graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in landscape architecture, Jacobi’s career includes working for some of the most respected land planning and engineering firms throughout Atlanta, in addition to launching his own endeavors.

The turning point in Jacobi’s career was transitioning to the homebuilding industry in 2003 to perform land acquisitions and development for one of the country’s largest home builders. Following that, Jacobi created Parkland Communities, Inc., a multifaceted real estate development and investment firm, in 2005 and has worked hard to establish a stellar reputation developing communities and lots for national and regional homebuilders, as well as investing in land.

In 2007, at the beginning of the great recession, Jacobi and a group of business partners founded JEH Homes. Jacobi was actively involved in the day-to-day operations of what would become one of the most successful, top 10 largest home builders in Georgia, a true Cinderella story in such a challenging economic time. JEH Homes built more than 1,200 homes in the greater Atlanta area prior to being purchased by Taylor Morrison for $70+ million in 2015.

With a reputation for innovation, Jacobi also owns Parkland Residential, a build-to-rent company. Serving as the wave of the future, Parkland Residential helps meet the needs of the missing middle in residential real estate by offering unique product that fills the need for affordable housing. The company focuses on providing rental housing in high-demand areas.

Jacobi is also part owner of Alliance Engineering + Planning, LLC, a respected planning, engineering and surveying consulting company serving clients across the Southeast. Additionally, Jacobi is part owner of multiple real estate investment ventures with asset holdings throughout North Atlanta.

During his career, Jacobi has been involved in a variety projects including planning office parks, commercial and retail centers and beachside resorts and the acquisition, design, or development of over 10,000 residential lots. He is recognized as a quality developer by both the large and small builder community. His innate ability to find new opportunities, navigate municipal entitlements and envision future development has earned him the respect and trust of his peers.

vice president of operations
Elizabeth Kim is Vice President of Operations for Parkland Communities. She brings a powerful mix of technological, financial, and analytical skills to perform land acquisitions for the development company. Kim manages the acquisition and entitlement process for every project including meeting with municipal staff and attending zoning hearings. Her passion is identifying new opportunities and securing land for future communities. To do this, she looks at a broad range of factors and performs strategic market analysis and competitive valuations to determine feasibility. 

Kim’s contributions to Parkland Communities include implementing several new software installations including a new CRM system and managing a proprietary market analytics software.

Prior to joining Parkland Communities, her work experiences include residential leasing, property management, business and financial analysis, sales, and strategic development. 

Kim graduated from the University of Georgia with two degrees, a BBA in Finance and a BA in Communication Studies. She has completed real estate licensing courses and is a certified property management specialist. 

A resident of Alpharetta, Georgia, Kim enjoys biking, hiking, running and getting out to enjoy nature on the Greenway trail and North Georgia Mountains.

With 20 years of real estate sales and management experience, Maynor’s experience is vast. Tonka Maynor started his career in new home sales with private and national homebuilders, winning numerous awards for his sales success. During the recession he worked with Suntrust and BB&T assisting with taking over REO subdivisions and real estate portfolios, then facilitating the sale of these assets to the public.

Other career highlights include partnering with a local builder to acquire land and assist with building and selling new homes throughout metro Atlanta, working with Keller Williams for four years primarily working with investors and small builders, and serving as an outside consultant for Parkland Communities before joining the team as the Vice President of Acquisitions. 

Maynor graduated from North Carolina Greensboro where he played collegiate baseball. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007 individually and in 2010 along with his team. Maynor is married to Caroline and they have two beautiful daughters Taylor and Cameron. In his free time, he enjoys watching his daughters perform ballet and play soccer.

Tim Stubbs combines his accounting and finance knowledge with 18 years of experience as a residential home builder to bring a unique perspective to his position as Controller with Parkland Communities. In this capacity he manages the financial and accounting process for the company and oversees related staff.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Tim’s wide range of experience includes working with Pinnacle Entertainment, Isle of Capri Casinos, TFS Development, Windsong Properties, Cowart Residential, Peachland Homes, and Plantation Associates. This gives him a vast array of knowledge to draw from as he creates fiscal strategies for Parkland Communities. 

Stubbs also is a licensed builder in Georgia and Mississippi. He is an award-winning builder who has built 400+ homes during his career. 

As the father of two grown adopted sons, Stubbs is a volunteer, advocate, and speaker for adoption-related causes. He also is a recreational pilot, which has inspired one of his sons to pursue a degree in commercial aviation.

Stubbs holds a BS in Accounting at Mississippi College, and an MBA in Finance from Vanderbilt University.
